When starting this class I had no idea on the in depth environmental conservation topics we learned this semester. I can defiantly say my day to day activities have changed and every action I do the environment crosses my mind. This field visit project has really opened my eyes to stop, look around and enjoy nature. During or first field site visit, which was in February in the middle of winter, I had a little trouble finding five animals and 5 species. It took a more effort than I thought it would take. I assumed it was because it was winter and cold out. That first visit was in the upper foothills at around 3200 ft of elevation. The area was in Dutch Flat California, near the Diggins, which is an old hydro mined area. This land is BLM land and there is zero management of land here. Parts of the area, where the hydro mining took place, were decimated with no life plant life.
